Having just completed my preparation for some high impact sales training I’m presenting to a client next month, I’d like to share this article with you, which is quite pertinent to what I believe we are all trying to achieve.
Short and sharp – however I think you’ll find it thought provoking!
It begins with a question…
Are you the hunter or the hunted?
Every morning in Africa a lion wakes up. It knows it must out run the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death.
Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must out run the fastest lion or it will be killed.
And the moral of the story…
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a lion or a gazelle… when the sun comes up you’d better be running!
I’m sure you can think of many applications for this story in your own world?
Here’s my spin relating it to sales.
The world we all inhabit is changing and moving faster than ever. Change is a constant, what’s on the horizon today is with us – not next year, not in a month’s time, not next week… but TOMORROW!
Every single day when the sun comes up we’d better be running – stealing the edge on the day, thinking, and acting one step ahead of the competition, one step ahead of the market, anticipating the future turns on the road —proactively creating a route map.
You may already know of my passion for quality questions, so here’s a couple for you to think about…
When the sun comes up are you running and as importantly, in what direction?
What about your customers? How can you help them run faster with more focus and direction?
The bottom line for me is if you’re not running when the sun comes up then you will be the hunted instead of the hunter.
The hunter sounds the much better option to me!
